Windows XP - End of Sale, Support Lifecycle Schedule
June 30 2008, End of Sale - Microsoft's last day for selling retail and major PC brand OEM editions (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.) was June 30, 2008. You may be able to purchase from your retailer after that while supplies last.
April 2014, Support - Although Mainstream Support, with bug fixes and tech support for retail customers ended April, 2009, Extended Support, with security updates, continues through April, 2014! Keep using your XP securely for over 4 more years!
Business Customers can "downgrade" to XP Professional from Vista Business or Vista Ultimate to ease the transition. This requires a valid XP product key and does not apply to Home and Media versions.
Microsoft Office 2007 File Format Compatibility
Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) will be using a new XML file format by default that will not be recognized by previous versions. But Microsoft has provided an Office Compatibility Pack that will allow previous versions to read and write the 2007 format for those who need to but cannot or are not ready to upgrade. Download it here or call or email to schedule an appointment and I will take care of that for you.
